Prof. Ta-Jen Chu

He holds a Ph.D. from National Taiwan University and is a professor and master's and doctoral supervisor at Jimei University in Fujian, China. He is one of the eighth batch of Taiwan Distinguished Experts of Xiamen City. He is also the Chief Expert of the Marine Economy Industry of Quanzhou City and the Chief Advisor of the Jimei District Taiwanese Expert Advisory Group. He serves as a director of the Chinese Tourism Management Association, a director of the Taiwan Tourism Association, a researcher at the Fishing Village Community Development Research Center of National Taiwan University, a director of the Taiwan Ecological Verification and Environmental Education Association, and a director of the Taiwan Wetland Society. He has served as a guest editor for Water Journal and Fishes Journal, an editorial board member for Environmental and Sustainability Indicators, editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Environmental Sustainability and Protection, editor-in-chief of the Journal of Wetlands, and editor-in-chief of Recreation Management. He has also served as a senior reviewer for Ecological Indicators, Sustainability, and Fisheries. He is a TPMA Top 100 Teacher and APMA-A+ Large Project Manager. He has extensive experience in fishery resource assessment, fishing village revitalization planning, recreational fisheries planning, and marine tourism development, providing a series of innovative results in fishing village revitalization. He has presided over 10 projects funded by the Taiwan Ministry of Science and Technology and 120 projects funded by central and local governments. He has published more than 100 academic research papers (more than 45 of which are indexed by SCI).
